Silver Wave creates exceptional private experiences throughout Northland and the Bay of Islands, bringing together luxury yacht charters, personally hosted touring, and seamless transfers by road and water.
From an airport arrival to an afternoon among the islands, every element is considered as part of one experience. We arrange relaxed days aboard our yachts, private tours shaped around individual interests, discreet transfers between lodges and destinations, and complex journeys involving vehicles, vessels, accommodation, dining, and special occasions.
Our role is simple: to understand how our guests wish to travel and make it feel effortless.

Meet Scott
Scott’s connection with the sea began in the Bay of Islands, where he spent his youth sailing with his family. Those early voyages took him through the Bay, across the Hauraki Gulf, into the South Pacific, and along the Australian coastline, establishing a lifelong passion for exploration, hospitality, and life on the water.
He went on to study at the New Zealand Maritime School, earning a Diploma in Nautical Science and an Unlimited Master Mariner qualification. At 18, Scott began his professional career with Carnival Cruise Line, progressing through an international maritime career that included navigating the iconic Queen Mary 2 and captaining a 77-metre superyacht throughout the Mediterranean and Middle East.
These experiences shaped Scott’s understanding of exceptional service: meticulous preparation, sound judgement, quiet professionalism, and an instinctive awareness of what makes a journey memorable.
Today, Scott leads Silver Wave from the Bay of Islands, bringing international maritime experience together with a deep personal knowledge of Northland. Working alongside a trusted team of captains, crew, drivers, hosts, and local partners, he oversees private charters, touring, transfers, and carefully coordinated journeys throughout the region.
For Scott, Silver Wave is about more than reaching a destination. It is about sharing the character of Northland through experiences that feel personal, effortless, and genuinely connected to place.

It was a great time to unwind with our team...
We hired Silver Wave for our studio's staff party and absolutely loved it! It was a great time to unwind with our team and see more of our backyard. We had plenty of space on the front deck to lounge, share a grazing platter, and pop open some bubbles while getting a salty breeze in our hair. 10/10 recommend for a unique experience in the Bay.
