How long does my charter last?

Cross Icon Image

How long is a piece of string? While our day cruise and private day charters are designed to last one day (six hours on the water), and 24 hours over night, we run a completely bespoke service at request. This means, if you should want longer to explore, or there are any extra activities you'd like to include, we can provide, as part of our price quote. For more information, head to contact us to inquire about your next charter.

What is a bareboat charter?

Cross Icon Image

A bareboat is simply a boat that is rented without crew or sometimes a skipper — instead, you'll skipper and navigate our multi-million dollar yacht yourself.

However, bookings for this service are up to the discretion of our director and lead skipper, Scott Farrand. Proof of capability behind the helm will have to be displayed prior to handing over the yacht.

What does a skipper do?

A skipper will handle the boat for you, recommend routes, places to visit, navigate through the waters, tell you about the areas you pass through and make your holiday as relaxing as possible. If you wanted to have a go at sailing yourself but don't have as much experience, our skipper will be happy to help. For more focused training, in which you'll learn the ropes of handling a yacht like Serenity, see our Maritime training program.

What is a crewed charter?

A crewed charter is a charter on a luxury yacht where a permanent crew takes care of the yacht and the passengers.  The crew is made up of a captain and additional trained crew including hostesses, deckhands and even chefs, if you're looking for a fine dining experience.

Do I need a certification if I charter bareboat?

Cross Icon Image

If you or one of your party are well experienced in skippering similar-sized yachts and have proof of this experience that is able to be shared with us then you may be eligible to skipper Serenity on a bareboat charter basis. While sailing qualifications are good to have as an added extra to prove your level of experience here, they are not strictly required nor proof alone that you are eligible to charter on a bareboat basis.

Our assessment of whether an individual is eligible for a bareboat charter is primarily based on experience. Some examples of what we would like to see as evidence of experience is qualifications, record books, PredictWind tracking page, photos, vlogs, or references.

Once I book a charter, how do I pay?

Cross Icon Image

Prior to payment, we will give you a full yacht charter agreement and corresponding invoice that clearly shows the payments due in the currency of your charter.

What will I really end up paying?

Your final invoice will be based on the total number of guests, length of journey and activities you wish to pursue along the way. Because of the unique nature of each trip, our price quotes vary. For flat rates, please request our guide.
