PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE RISKS INVOLVED
Silver Wave is committed to providing guests with exceptional and safe experiences, whether on the water or on the road. However, as with all marine, road and adventure activities, there are inherent risks involved. By choosing to participate in any Silver Wave Vessel Service or Vehicle Service, guests acknowledge and accept the following risks and responsibilities.
GENERAL MARITIME RISKS
Participation in any sailing or boating activity carries certain risks. These may include, but are not limited to:
- minor or serious injury from boarding or disembarking
- sudden changes in weather and sea conditions
- slippery or uneven surfaces onboard
- motion sickness or injury due to vessel movement
- accidental immersion or falling overboard
- interaction with marine life
- shoreside risks, including uneven ground, potential for cuts or grazes, slips or trips, disorientation, and natural hazards such as steep drop-offs or coastal cliffs
- water activities such as swimming, snorkelling, paddleboarding and diving, which carry inherent risks including strong currents, sudden weather changes, marine life encounters, physical exertion, and the potential for slips, falls or immersion-related incidents
- onboard emergency scenarios such as collision, grounding, person overboard, steering or propulsion loss, fire, or abandon ship
- exposure to natural hazards such as tsunami, waterspouts and wildfires
- loss or damage to personal property
All guests must follow crew instructions at all times. Life jackets and safety equipment are available onboard and may be required in certain conditions.
ROAD AND VEHICLE TRANSPORT RISKS
Silver Wave's private vehicle transfers and touring involve travel on public roads. Guests should be aware of risks including, but not limited to:
- traffic accidents and road hazards, including conditions caused by other road users, weather, or road works, which are outside Silver Wave's control
- delays caused by traffic, weather, road closures or ferry timetables
- slips, trips or falls when entering, exiting, or moving around a vehicle
- motion sickness during travel
- manual handling of luggage
- risks encountered at tour stops or attractions, including uneven terrain, unfamiliar surroundings and natural hazards
- reduced control over conditions on public roads, including the conduct of other drivers
Guests must:
- wear a seatbelt at all times while the vehicle is moving, where fitted
- ensure any child travelling with them is secured in an approved child restraint appropriate to their age and size
- follow the driver's or guide's instructions at all times
- disclose in advance any mobility, accessibility or medical needs that may affect safe travel
JETSKI AND EFOIL USE
Silver Wave offers the use of jetskis and/or eFoils as an optional experience. These high-adrenaline activities carry additional risk, including:
- high-speed impact or collision with other vessels, marine life, or fixed objects
- falls resulting in physical injury
- equipment malfunction or operator error
- risk of immersion and drowning, particularly for non-swimmers or those unfamiliar with the equipment
All participants must:
- be physically fit and competent swimmers
- follow all safety briefings and wear provided safety gear, including life jackets and helmets where required
- operate equipment in designated areas only and under crew supervision
Participation may be refused to guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or those deemed unfit by the crew.
MULTI-DAY CHARTERS
Overnight and multi-day charters offer an immersive experience on the water, but come with their own considerations:
- navigating onboard spaces during the night, including potential trip or fall hazards
- fatigue or disorientation due to vessel movement
- limited medical access in remote anchorages
- changes in weather conditions affecting anchorage comfort
Guests should:
- communicate any health concerns or conditions in advance
- use handrails and lighting when moving around the vessel at night
- keep personal medication accessible
HEALTH AND RESPONSIBILITY
All guests are responsible for their own health and safety during a Vessel Service or Vehicle Service. Please advise us in advance of any medical conditions, disabilities or concerns that may affect your participation, including any child restraint requirements for a vehicle transfer. Silver Wave reserves the right to alter itineraries or cancel certain activities due to weather, road conditions, safety, or other operational reasons.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By participating in any Silver Wave experience, whether a vessel charter, a private vehicle transfer, or a touring service, guests confirm that they understand the risks involved and agree to comply with all safety instructions and conditions provided by our crew, drivers and guides.
