Captain Scott
Scott’s lifelong connection with the sea began in the Bay of Islands, where he spent his youth sailing with his family through the Bay, the Hauraki Gulf, the South Pacific, and along the Australian coastline. That early immersion in the maritime world sparked a passion for travel and adventure that led him to formal training at the New Zealand Maritime School, where he earned a Diploma in Nautical Science and an Unlimited Master Mariner license. At just 18, Scott launched his professional seafaring career with a cadetship at Carnival, the world’s largest cruise ship operator. His career highlights include navigating the iconic Queen Mary II and captaining a 77-metre superyacht across the Mediterranean and Middle East. Today, with a desire to balance his maritime career with family life, Scott has founded Silver Wave Yacht Charters. Together with the dedicated Silver Wave team, he looks forward to welcoming you aboard and sharing some of the world’s most spectacular cruising grounds.

We hired Silver Wave for our studio's staff party and absolutely loved it! It was a great time to unwind with our team and see more of our backyard. We had plenty of space on the front deck to lounge, share a grazing platter, and pop open some bubbles while getting a salty breeze in our hair. 10/10 recommend for a unique experience in the Bay.
